Everett A. Gunther was born to the late Peter and Helen Gunther in the
year 2184 on New Ironwheel Station. Both his parents were contract laborers
within the Jovian Gas Mining Corporation (JGMC), being constantly moved
around to new assignments. While the JGMC maintained schools for their
employee's children, the consistent shuffling from station to station
left Everett with little chance to forge the usual friendships that young
boys normally would. Early on, during this time he devoted himself to
his studies, acting more reclusive. This was not too uncommon for many
children of the JGMC, who carried the slang and derogatory term of CK
(or CorpKid). Many of these children would eventually find their way into
apprenticing within the corporation or test out for military recruitment.
Everett showed aptitude for geometry and other analytical studies. Making
him an ideal candidate for the JAF youth academy on Elysee. However, his
parents were unable to afford such an expense and his grades were not
quite high enough to receive the scholarships necessary.
Many years later, Everett decided to try once again on pursuing his childhood
dream. Walking into a JAF recruitment office, he applied for military
service. Following his determined efforts in basic training, he was approved
to move on to flight training school under full scholarship. The approval
had not come easily though. Everett had pushed himself tirelessly to qualify,
studying late into the evenings. During this time he made a friend in
Vice Valkurie, a fellow cadet. Both went on to flight training, where
Valkurie excelled past Everett, being accepted into exo-armor training.
The success of Valkrie began to erode at their friendship. Everett, though
disappointed, had preferred fighter combat and maneuvers to the more acrobatic
aspects of exo-piloting. Although, both he and Valkurie became wrapped
up in the different subcultures of exo-pilots and spacefighter pilots,
it was not uncommon for the two friends to verbally spar over their accomplishments
toward each other.
Everett was a devoted pilot, spending hours in simulators and logging
countless flight hours. However, he always took time to enjoy the nightlife
on station and during shore leave when available. He became known as a
sort of playboy among the other recruits in training school, his skill
with women only rivaled by his skill with gambling. Everett's excessive
flirting and womanizing attitude only created further schisms between
Valkurie and Everett, to the point that they became hostile toward one
another, sometimes breaking out into brawls in bars and taverns off base.
Now, eight years later, Everett is a lieutenant in the JAF forces. Having
completed officer training courses in squadron leadership and advanced
piloting, Everett has been assigned to the Forge-class carrier Fierce
II as Flight Leader for Swallow Flight. His commanding officers
know he has all the aptitudes to become a veteran ace pilot some day,
but they are continually disappointed in his devil-may-care attitude.

A native of Titan, Harry Mandrake plans to parlay a successful career
in the JAF into a high paying job in the Titanian Hydrocarbon Corporation's
Corporate Security Division. So far he is on track, with a recent promotion
to the rank of Sergeant and assignment to JSS Fierce II. A careful planner,
he is sometimes annoyed by the impulsive nature of some of his fellow
marines, but he is resolved to provide the troops under his command even
handed leadership. Harry's determination also expresses itself as a dedication
to physical fitness and he can often be found in the ship's gym when off
duty on an exercise bike or sparring with anyone who is willing. To relax
Harry watches old movies, writes letters to his friends and father and
paints and sketches. His Pouncer exo-suit features his own custom dragon
paint job.
