APPEARANCE
Justin Battersly was a young-looking thirty when he gained his powers, and does not seem to have aged since.  He stands five-foot-eight, and has a average build, including small love handles.  He has brown hair, usually cut short, and milky blue eyes.  If it's been a while since the last time his face was removed, he'll have a beard, but when it regenerates, it comes back clean-shaven.  Overall, Justin isn't a very memorable person, and is often mistaken for someone else.

He's worn a variety of costumes, most of them very gaudy so as to attract attention, and with a target over his heart.  Out of costume, he wears cheap clothing that he won't miss if it's destroyed.  His ring is silver, and usually worn on the right ring finger.  It has a filigreed letter "L" imprinted on it.

POWERS/TACTICS
Justin's powers are the result of a magical alteration, though they do not themselves detect as magic.  His primary ability is "talion," the automatic ability to exact "an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth."  In more practical terms, whenever someone physically or mentally affects Justin, they are affected exactly the same way.  Chop off his hand, and your hand falls off.  Mind control him to "jump in the lake" and you will too.  Heal his wounds and yours will vanish.  This won't work on robots or other non-organic attackers, and people who are immune to their own powers will be unaffected.

Talion also heals from wounds at a phenomenal rate, and is apparently unkillable (though it took him a long time to return from being reduced to his component atoms.)  Note that lopping off his hand will prevent him from flying!

Talion's tactics can be summed up in one word -- suicidal.  Since he has no particular fear of death, he's quite willing to engage in frontal assaults against lethal opponents.  If he knows a particular opponent has a bad temper, or a sore spot, Talion will taunt her in hopes of tricking them into attacking.  He often volunteers to be a distraction while other heroes accomplish more subtle tasks.  He's also been known to pick up other people's weapons and use them (poorly).

PERSONALITY
Justin was a big comics fan as a boy, and started out being really enthusiastic about being a superhero.  His difficult relations with the New Legends team and the gory nature of his powers soon soured him.  He is bitter and frustrated about his inability to be "appreciated" by others,
and the lost time after his apparent death.  His sense of humor has become morbid, and he's lost any outward sign of remorse for killing criminals.  Secretly, Justin is a huge romantic, but he's never had any luck with the ladies.
